PEF needs your help

The Poquoson Education Foundation is hosting a food drive to stock the shelves of the St Kateri food pantry the week of December 12 through 16.   All you need to do is bring an unexpired, non-perishable food item to the big bus that will be parked in the Farm Fresh Parking Lot.   We will be accepting all non perishable and monetary donations from 9-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9-1 p.m. Friday.   The schools have an opportunity to participate – send your child to school that week with a canned or other non perishable food item and help them win a prize for the class/school that collects the most.   Your Poquoson Education Foundation is all about community and especially at this time of year when the need for food is so great.   Help us fill the bus with nourishing food.   (Peanut butter, tuna, cereal, canned fruit, canned soups, hamburger helper, pastas, canned sauces and canned vegetables are needed).

PEF had a very busy fall!

What a busy fall for PEF!  In September we donated 50 backpacks filled with school supplies  to students in need of the appropriate materials to begin the school year.   Poquoson’s Run For The Bulls 5K/2 Mile Walk was held on October 29.  Each year PEF joins forces with the Poquoson Kiwanis Club to sponsor this event.  Numerous runners, volunteers and generous sponsors make this one of our most successful fundraising events.  On November 20 we held a private shopping party at Hi-Hi  Silver who generously donated  a percentage of the sales to PEF.  And finally, students and teachers at all four schools benefited from PEF grants totaling over $15,000.   And that is what our fundraising is all about!

$15,000 in grants are awarded to

PCPS teachers and students

And this is why we do it. PEF awarded 38 grants which impacted instruction in 45 classrooms!
