2016 Gala was a great evening for all

Unless someone like you cares a whole

awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.    Dr. Seuss

A lot of someones cared a whole awful lot on March 19 at our 2016 gala.  The weather was cold and rainy but the atmosphere inside the Poquoson Yacht Club was warm and caring. All the elements of a successful gala were there: good food, gaming tables, a silent auction, and above all–good company!  At the end of the evening, the coffers were full.  Our thanks go to our hard working committee and our generous donors and participants.

Real Men Read

Once again the Real Men Read program was a huge success. Almost thirty men spent the morning of March 2 reading to the students of Poquoson Primary and Poquoson Elementary Schools.
For the first time this year, a guest author took part in the program. Anna Burger from the Eastern Shore of Virginia read her book Pea Soup and the Seafood Feast to all PPS students over the PA.  She will be returning to Poquoson soon to do a writing workshop at PES.
The morning closed with a reception hosted by PEF. Thanks to former PEF Director, Charlie French, for organizing the event.
