The Poquoson Education Foundation awards several scholarships each year based on demonstrated excellence in both school and community activities. The Poquoson Education Foundation General Fund Scholarship eligibility requirements are listed below.
The applicant shall be:
 | A student who lives in the City of Poquoson. |
| A student who will graduate this year from a public high school within the city of Poquoson. |
| A student who has demonstrated excellence in academic studies as well as in school and community activities. |
| A student who plans to attend an institution beyond the high school level that is accredited by a regional accreditation association. |
| A student who is not related to an active term Board member or a disqualified donor (any person who has contributed more than $5000 or 2% of total contributions received from inception of the Foundation.) |
Application Procedures
The applicant shall:
| Request an application form and other information from the Poquoson High School guidance office (application available online below). |
| Submit a completed application form to the high school guidance director prior to the application deadline. |
| Request recommendations from two persons, other than applicant's family members, to be given to the high school guidance director or sent directly to the Scholarship Chairman prior to the application deadline. |
| Submit a short essay explaining how the scholarship award will assist the applicant in meeting a specific financial commitment or responsibility with the completed application form to the Poquoson High School guidance director before the application deadline. |
